Staying connected!

Frustrated by having to remove your favorite case every time you need to charge your iPhone, iPod or iPad?

Do you hate buying that new charger and then realizing it won’t work with your case?

I can think back to my iPhone 3G when I had a nice dock on my desk and wanted to use it to charge/sync the iPhone but was constantly having to take off the case so it would actually plug in and work. Had I only had a dock extender! Well we have the solution not only for docking any iPhone, iPod or iPad no matter what style of case you use we can even give you an option to extend you dock or USB cable up to nearly 4′ long.

The first product is the Radtech ProCable Shortz Dock Extender which is a handy adapter that you can take anywhere and never be forced to remove case to charge or sync your device.

As you can tell this would come in very handy when using the original          Apple charging cables or many of the aftermarket chargers that do not typically fit into your iPhone bumper or case. Anyone that has ever tried to plug in a charger while their iPhone is in a heavy duty case such as the Otterbox Defender, may quickly find out their charging cable doesn’t work. That can be a very frustrating experience! This will defiantly reduce the stress and aggravation in dealing with keeping our battery sucking gadgets fully charged!

 

 

 

 

 

The other option which can be useful if your wanting to setup your iDevice farther from your docking station. An example might be you travel to trade shows and have an iPad hooked to a sound dock but want the iPad to be on a stand away from it’s sound source. The cord is 47″ long and can give you all sorts of creative ways to keep your iPad or any “iDevice” plugged in, charged and ready for use.

What’s Kraken!?!

Sorry for the punny title!

Enough already… My apologies for the lame joke but I had to let everyone know about our brand new line of iPad 2 cases from Trident called the “Kraken II”. These cases are on a UPS truck on there way to Olathe in a day or two and will be ready for your orders. I have been talking with several school districts across the country and have had great feedback in terms of quality and protection for the price. It’s been a challenge to find serious protection for iPad 2 in any color other than black, but that is all about to change with the Kraken II series of cases. I know some people just like black, but some enjoy adding a bit of color to their cases and the Kraken II’s bring you some great choices. We will have the Black, Red, Blue and Pink in a day or two and the Green are soon to follow.

Here are some quick pictures of these cases, and a quick search on Youtube you can find their numerous drop tests and durability tests from impacts and even from water/splash damage.These have a built in screen protector and great overall protection for your iPad 2.

New Retail Otterbox Display Racks!

I first want to say thank you to all of our dealers that have helped us grow our accessories business and purchase Otterbox from us. We continue to expand our line of accessories and as we grow our business we get a few perks along the way, one of those is the ability to offer these retail display racks to help you sell more Otterbox cases!

I think Otterbox’s marketing team says it best:

The Otterbox display not only passed the test but exceeded our expectations as eTech Parts is located in a industrial park that doesn’t see much retail traffic. We get a few walk-in and retail customers a week and prior to having this display sitting up front I don’t think we sold any Otterboxes to walk in customers without one of our sales staff mentioning them directly.  In the past 30 days we have seen those “impulse” buys go up well over 20% consider it was basically zero prior to us having them displayed. The quality of the display is what you expect, if you have ever seen their products, first class! The base rotates 360 degrees so you can stand it in a very small area and have access to 50 pegs that will easily hold 50 to 100+ Otterbox cases, depending on the arrangement.

Let’s talk MORE cases…

So if you had the chance to read my last update I was talking about the various product lines we have added here at eTech Parts. The Ballistic line of cases I featured last week have been a huge hit with all of our customers so I wanted to introduce another line of cases today called the Decoro line. We have been working on a more affordable case with great protection and style. The Decoro line has given us both protection and reasonable cost that won’t break the bank.

I personally like the Decoro Premium Tandem cases as they provide a lightweight case, great color combo’s and the back is a smooth surface so it slips easily in and out of my jeans pocket. The rubberized cases can get caught and end up with lint all over them. Granted maybe I should clean my pockets out better? haha oh well. So on to the good stuff!

Along with this line of Tandem cases the Mesh Hybrid is very similar to the Otterbox commuter in that is has a two piece rubber and hard plastic shell. Here are a few examples of the colors available.

                   

The next case is a more universal Decoro case that I’ve been asked about many, many times. This case  is a simple black “leather” looking pouch with a magnetic latch. This pouch has a clip and loops so it can be clipped on any belt or on a backpack or purse strap. It holds not only any iPhone but any phone of similar size. This is the perfect case for those of us who prefer to protect our phones when traveling but enjoy using it without a bulky case. I love Apple designs and have a hard time putting any case on it, but this case offers protection when it’s not in use and easy access when you need it.

Finally from Decoro is their Premium Silicone Cases for the iPod Touch 4th gen. These fit the iPod nicely, offer great scratch protection and some impact protection for your iPod without the bulk of larger more expensive cases. Not to mention the quality you get for the price. Let’s Talk Cases!

2012 brings all sorts of new gadgets and accessories to eTech Parts as we expand our line from just a few Otterboxes into new lines of cases and headphones. Recently Kyle posted about the new Jaybird Freedom series bluetooth earbuds and they have been flying off the shelves! Today I wanted to take a minute and make everyone aware of our Ballistic line of cases.

First on the list is our HC line of Ballistic cases that is on par (or better) in terms of quality with Otterbox Defenders. We carry both the HC and the SG series of Ballistic cases for the iPhone in a variety of colors.

Does Apple’s iPad 2 Smart Covers leaving you wanting for more?

As I stood in line at 4am for my shiny new iPad 2 I realized my old case would not fit and I was a bit perplexed on what to do for a case. I really liked the original Apple case and hoped for a revision for the iPad 2, but as we all know no such luck. So what to do? Well the smart cover is a great piece of tech with magnets to hold onto the iPad 2 back and also turn your iPad 2 on and off. BUT… After a few months I noticed some light scratches on the side of my iPad 2. NOT COOL!!  I’ve been searching for an alternative for some time now and after nearly a month I think I have found an answer, which of course i want to share with everyone.

The Naztech Slim Case has all the great features of the Apple smart cover with the magnets to turn the iPad on or off, but it also has an attached back! So no more worrying about scratching my iPad 2′s back cover. I can say I’m rather picky when it comes to my gadgets and the quality of what I buy. This Naztech Slim Case has been a pleasant surprise to say the least. Currently it is only available in black but my suppliers have indicated colors maybe coming in 2012!

We have them in stock and ready to make your iPad 2 safe from scratches and look cool all at the same time!

Gadgets, Gifts and Green Things!

Good day everyone! I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself and some of eTech Parts great new accessories. I’m a long time Apple fan and have always been an early adopter when it comes to gadgets of all sorts. I grew up on a Commodore 64 and have used and built pretty much every configuration of personal computer over the past 20+ years. I am constantly scanning the web for the latest cool gadgets and hope to bring some of those relevant to iPhone, iPod and iPads to the eTech Parts line up.

I have been with eTech Parts since August 2011 and am I’m working on expanding our “iDevice” accessories product line. The following items are new to eTech Parts and are now in stock and ready to ship!

First off our line of Clingo Universal phone holders, I personally use the Clingo Universal Podium for my iPhone at the office.


I’ve also recently started using the  Clingo Universal Car Phone Mount.
